[ what kind of feedback could he give that didn't involve giving into the voice that also screams to cause some trouble? the blazer gives him some cover as he takes it and... quietly tries to fold it neatly so that he can place it aside. are there probably more of them in one of the resort's shops? yeah. doesn't mean he should let it go to waste. ]
Dance pointers... dunno. Can't think of anyone who'd be willin' to teach you anythin' like this.
[ guessing games aren't ones he likes to participate in. but if it's someone they both know, it should probably cut down the possible names to a pretty small list. ]
But whoever did looks like he did a pretty good job.
[ those eyes follow hiyori's hands, his fingers, where his pants... the button? it's open?? he's really getting this kind of dance now. if there weren't beads of sweat on the beastman's brow before, there are now. ]
[He pauses deliberately, letting the ~mystery~ linger for a moment, while he draaaags the zipper of his pants down just as casually as he popped open the button.]
It was Vil-kun! We ran into each other at House Finch, and we got to talking about dance. He kindly gave me some pointers, and he told me they had lessons in this sort of thing at Ugly Duckling, so I signed up for some classes. And now, I have an even bigger repertoire.
[He wriggles out of his pants while he talks, bending over shamelessly once they're down his thighs, before finally stepping out of them and tossing them aside too. He's wearing short shorts underneath, shimmery and red to match his top. And what's he wearing underneath the shorts, you ask?
That's a secret! For now, anyway. He gets back up on the stage, standing in front of the pole with his hands on his hips, and smiles mischievously at his audience of one.]
[ wow. he's not going to let leona see what lies beneath those cute short-shorts of his? he can only imagine there's not much left... maybe something sheer. something lacy or thin out of a fabric that leona can easily tear with his mouth or his fingers. why does he suddenly feel hungry and thirsty at the same time? ]
He took the time to teach ya? Hm. Well then. Guess ya got a good education.
[ he's not going to complain. not when he's seeing hiyori in a whole new light like this. as he leans back in his seat so that he can... not-so-subtly place his hands in his lap, the beastman tilts his head to one side. ]
He teach you these tricks or you figure these out yourself?
[Nothing wrong with sitting back; Hiyori wants his audience to be comfortable. Although the way Leona settles his hands there looks sort of...
Well, he doesn't let his eyes linger. They snap back up to Leona's face. If he saw them dart down for a second, no he didn't!]
As I said, I took classes, and he gave pointers! But the hard work and creative decisions were all me. I've tried coming up with a few routines, and I even performed a mermaid-themed one aboard that cruise ship, but since the theme for today is "showing Leona-kun my songs," I thought it made sense to keep that going.
[In other words: more Eden music!
He goes and hits Play on a new song. This one isn't an off-vocal or an instrumental; this is a real recording, which means Leona will get to hear Nagisa and Jun and Ibara's voices too. Since he's not singing live, Hiyori can focus on his dancing. And which Eden song did he decide to pole dance to? The one with a catchy beat and lyrics so suggestive that it just feels right!
The sound of crashing thunder booms over the speakers, then it's straight to EDM mode. His choreography at the beginning is mostly the same: swaying his hips and rolling his body in time with the music, pointing to his audience at "You want it." The idea behind this "private concert" was to give Leona a good sense of who he is as an idol and a performer, after all. And if it ain't broke, don't fix it, which definitely applies to Eden's choreo!
But he also has more to share. So when the first verse begins, he turns his back on Leona and hits the pole.
He wants to leave a big impression, so he starts by circling the pole fast, gaining momentum so he can climb it and do a spin. From there he shows off an array of techniques he learned in his classes, spins and sits and kicks interrupted by floorwork. The muscles in his thighs and arms are on display as he uses them to grip the pole, even if his body is as soft and "squishy" as Jun's teased him about. And that's exactly what he wants: to show his strength. While his "mermaid" routine was soft, flowy and elegant, this one has more quick and sharp movements, and he keeps a feisty attitude throughout. After all, this routine is meant to appeal to Leona, who likes the fierce types—right? He liked Jun, after all.
Hiyori doesn't forget to sync to the music, or to the lyrics. During that "falling down, feeling up" part he turns it literal, climbing high and then sliding down the pole, catching himself in a knee hook position. Did that take a lot of practice? You bet it did! And he pulls it off not just once, but twice.
Then comes the finale. He needed a showstopping move, something strong-yet-elegant and thematically on-point, so what he reaches for is a basic "butterfly" move. He did, after all, have the Psyche's Butterfly song in his setlist, and it's a motif that represents him well. He pulls hard with his top hand, pushes on the pole with his bottom hand, and flips himself, one leg hooked around the pole and the other extended in the air. He's suspended upside down, his fancy embroidered tank top falling up to his chin, and he looks and feels exhilarated.
He can't hold it forever, but he doesn't try to. He brings his leg back, crosses his ankles, and twists out of the pose, sliding back down to the floor. Just in time for the last "falling down, feeling up" part, but this time he doesn't climb the pole again and instead runs straight for Leona.]
Catch! ♪
[He doesn't fling just clothes into Leona's lap, but his whole self this time. His knees end up braced around Leona's waist, hands finding their way to the lion man's shoulders, and he smiles down at him as the track draws to a close, looking sweaty with exertion but satisfied.]
